JOB TITLE: PRODUCT MANAGER (SENIOR BUYER)

REPORTING TO: PRODUCT AND COMMERCIAL DIRECTOR

Pepa’s inspiration comes from her large Spanish family and British in-laws. This nostalgic inspiration is evident in the designs offered at PEPA LONDON; timeless, smart styles that are rich in heritage. “We enjoy seeing our children look like children”. Pepa gets great joy out of dressing children from all around the world in irresistible clothing; a tangible expression of something much greater, whilst bringing back the heritage of traditional childrenswear. 

 

THE ROLE:

The PRODUCT MANAGER is responsible for supporting the growth strategy for PEPA LONDON through effective Design Management, Range Planning and Merchandising Analysis, Sourcing and Development. Owning the complete Critical Path and managing all the Buying process and product life cycle and supporting on all commercial decisions regarding product and collections along with the effective management of the supplier/manufacturers network across development and bulk production. They have a strong knowledge of the luxury childrenswear market and competitor landscape.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

SOURCING AND DEVELOPEMENT

  • Merchandising and Trade Management: Forecast and sales analysis, plan inventory levels, and ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure adequate stock and minimize waste.
  • Responsible for all sourcing and development of fabrics and trimmings across all product categories.
  • Responsible for the Collection development with Designer.
  • Oversee the Tech Packs (management and maintenance) with manufacturers.
  • Manage all Raw material PO’s and invoicing.
  • Responsible for identifying new production partners as required.

 

PRODUCT MANAGEMENT

  • Manages the entire Critical Path for design, development, and production.
  • Analyse market trends, pricing, and quality of products to ensure the best value for the organization.
  • Manages the end-to-end prototype and sample management process with suppliers.
  • Oversee the Tech Packs (management and maintenance) with manufacturers.
  • Owns the Range Plan and its management.
  • Responsible for all cost negotiations, end-costs / sell-in Margins.
  • Technical sign-off (standards / samples / pre-production / bulk)
  • With Customer Care, manages the end-to-end Bespoke and Made-to-Order
  • Responsible for all product barcoding and labelling.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior members of the purchasing team.

 

 

SUPPLIER MANAGEMENT

  • Research and evaluate suppliers, negotiate contracts, and manage relationships with vendors.
  • Supplier contracts, terms, and dealings, including Manuals.
  • Invoicing check and discrepancies management on all bulk production deliveries to warehouse.
  • Manage the procurement process from requisition to delivery, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
  • Owns entire bulk production process and collection delivery schedules.
  • Should regularly attend Trade Shows and be aware of new developments and trends within the market.

 

PERSONAL QUALITITIES:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in procurement or purchasing
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Highly organised with strong process and administration skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and procurement software
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
  • Certification in procurement or supply chain management (e.g. CPSM, CSCP) is preferred.
  • Proven track record of cost savings and process improvement initiatives
  • Experience in vendor management and supplier relationship management, A strong negotiator that can form meaningful relationships with external partners.
  • KPI and metric orientated. A data driven decision maker.
  • Passionate about product with strong, luxury taste-level.
  • The ability to interface, link and communicate throughout the business.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
